Mickey joins The Watchmen

REPORT

Mickey at Qualifier One of Season Four of the TEKKEN 254 Circuit on 29 January 2020

Local Kenyan esports team Watchmen Esports have announced Michael Muhoro, better known by his pseudonym Mickey, as the newest player on their fighting game roster. The reigning TEKKEN 254 Circuit champion was previously a member of AlphaPlay, who had signed him in 2018 following Season One of the Circuit. The Watchmen announced the news on their Instagram page.

Mickey becomes the third FGC signing for The Watchmen after DVK and PR1EST, the latter also formerly of AlphaPlay, both joined in July 2019. He finished Season Three of the Circuit last year in first place as he did in the previous two seasons, having won every tournament prior to Season 4, qualifying for the Finals with 144 points and winning without dropping a set. He also finished first at the Kenya national qualifiers of the African Esports Championship the same year.

Mickey currently sits in first place in Season Four of the TEKKEN 254 Circuit with 18 points, one point ahead of MM | Frost, who defeated him in the Grand Final at Qualifier One on 29 January 2020. He bounced back to finish Qualifier Two in first place ahead of his new team-mate DVK.

On behalf of everyone in the Kenyan Tekken community, TEKKEN 254 wishes Mickey the very best of luck with his new team.
